FDTA General Meeting

Don't forget to join us Monday January 19th @ the FDTA office for the general meeting. We'll be voting on BCTF AGM delegates, you'll get updates 9and info) on the FSA campaign, the TTOC call out service.... and more....

TTOC call out pains...

Send an email to the office when you have a problem with the new TTOC service. We are collecting the experiences of the first few weeks, and we hope to meet with the employer fairly soon in order to iron out some (if not all of) the wrinkles in the new system.

FSA, FSA, FSA...

Where do we stand right now? Well, we say that we have the right to send a flier home to parents, and that we may choose to provide the employer with a courtesy copy of that flier. The employer seems to feel that we need to provide them with a copy before hand for their approval before we send it home.

As the flier coming out of this office will meet the requirements of the arbitration, ....

The Association will be meeting with the employer to try to work through the current issue of our right to distribute materials to parents... and we will be meeting with the employer in order to try to find a way to find a workable solution for our boycott, and their need to attempt to have children write the FSA test in February.....

PD Funding - Latest news...

Partially good news on the PD funding front, as the employer has released to the Association approximately 50% of the PD funding that we are contractually entitled too. There is still no word on Staff Development funding, so that portion is very much 'on hold'

Continue to apply for the various activities covered under these two pools of funds, and we will inform you when they are approved (in other word, approval is pending funding).
